athwbx.sys prevents windows 8 to 8.1 upgrade and also does not allows Windows 10 from upgrading to newer build?or becomes BLUE Dead Screen

This is a common problem now a days since new windows start to appear and most are stuck not able to solve it, as we are not all tech giants..
so here is my solution to this everyday issue

Actually I got the same problem in windows 8 then 8.1 and now windows 10,

How i solved it by myself, this is how,... im not a tech guy at all, just used common understanding of this freaking athwbx problem..

For windows 8 to 8.1

if u r upgrading from windows 8 to windows 8.1, immediately after install go to device manager in control panel, and disable wireless atheros driver.. so u can not connect anymore to wifi. thats fine for the moment.
Next go to windows update center and search for optional updates... there u will find an update to this wireless atheros driver.. now here is a trick also that made me restart n do this procedure 2 3 times at least.. turn off all other imp or not imp updates, tick only this driver update... ur internet connection should be fast enough to download 765kb of file in a blink of time and install it.. once u get it installed. there should be no problem anymore... and u can use wifi again on ur windows 8.1.. however sometime while its installing it gives blue screen again because it resists to be fixed.. u need to try again and again and im sure u will succeed as i did.

For Windows 10 Issues

ok now for new LOvely Windows 10..

we guys having same problem after upgrade of windows from 8.1 to 10

here is my own solution

I did this while i thought i got the same problem as windows 8.1..
it kept on showing blue screen and keep on restarting over 15min when i decided to step in and fix this crazy athwbx yet again.. ;)

i turned off laptop by power button and then i went to advanced options in windows 10.. NB when u restart windows 10 u will get these options automatically, no need to press any del or F10 buttons, thanks to tech guys in microsoft to make our life easier..
Go to advanced option and select safe mode option without networking...dont select networking otherwise again blue dead screen waits ahead..
In safe mode u need to do the same exercise as above, go to devise manager and disable ur atheros wireless driver, then again restart ur computer and connect internet by LAN and try to turn off windows update to manual.. then search for windows 10 updates manually and install them and most important step, go to again device manager and go to atheros driver, click right open it and go to driver tab, SIMPLY click on ROLL BACK TO OLD DRIVER, confirm yes and U r done...

enjoy ur wifi again on gorgeous windows 10..

hope it helped..

i posted this answer on Microsoft answer website, u can check other solutions there as well.
